Park Piano Competition\, generously supported by the Jumy Foundation\, is pleased to announce the ninth annual competition\, to be held on Saturday\, April 13\, 2024\, at MoCA Westport. \nThe J.Y. Park Piano Competition promotes young pianists and rewards the artistic accomplishment of outstanding performers. Further\, the Jumy Foundation provides awards to the teachers of the winning competitors.  \nCompetition Chairman: Dr. Russell Hirshfield\, Professor of Music\, Western Connecticut State University \n  \nEligibility \nMiddle school and High School students living and/or studying in Connecticut\, and in Westchester\, Putnam and Dutchess Counties in New York. \n  \nDivisions \nJunior Divisions: Ages 10-13 (as of April 1\, 2024) \nSenior Divisions: Ages 14-18 (as of April 1\, 2024) \n  \nRequired Solo Repertoire: Senior Division \n\nCompulsory Work: Sonata in B-Flat Major\, Opus 22\, I. Allegro con brio by Ludwig van Beethoven\nA Baroque work\nA 19th\, 20th or 21st Century work\nAn American work (jazz compositions are acceptable)\n\n  \nRequired Solo Repertoire: Junior Division \n\nCompulsory work: Sonata in G Minor\, Opus 49\, no. 1\, I.
