This compelling biographical documentary explores the life and work of El Anatsui\, one of Africa’s most celebrated sculptors. \nDELA offers an intimate look into Anatsui’s groundbreaking contributions to contemporary art\, his mentorship of a generation of West African artists\, and his transformative role in his local community. The film delves into the profound simplicity and complexity of his monumental creations\, highlighting his journey of triumphs and trials. The title\, “Dela\,” meaning “Deliverer” in the Ewe language\, encapsulates his impact on art and culture. \nFollowing the screening\, filmmaker Oyiza Adaba will host a Q&A session. Adaba\, a journalist and filmmaker with nearly 30 years of experience\, is renowned for amplifying authentic African narratives. Her work\, including the acclaimed DELA: The Making of El Anatsui\, has brought African art and culture to global audiences.
