Please review our Visit Page for our policy. \nMore about Kristine Herman:  \nKristine Herman is the Managing Director of Policy and Advocacy at a large legal nonprofit organization. She is responsible for leading the strategic policy initiatives\, communications\, and advocacy activities at the city\, state and federal levels. \nFor more than two decades\, Kristine dedicated her career to advancing systemic reform at the intersection of law and human rights in the United States and internationally. Kristine has served as a guest reviewer for the International Journal of Transitional Justice; was on the Editorial Board of Affilia: Journal of Women and Social Work; a Fulbright Specialist in Fiji; and Guest Lecturer delivering an annual intensive course on Gender & the Law: A Global Introduction at the University of South Pacific Law School.  She has worked on gender justice and human rights issues in Afghanistan\, Azerbaijan\, Australia\, and throughout Europe and the United States \nKristine earned her B.A. at Antioch College\, her MSW at Tulane University\, and her J.D. at Northeastern University. \nTickets

The panel is free of charge but advance registration is required.  Hear first-hand from those directly involved in the effort to raise awareness of\, and have an impact on\, human rights violations in our region.  The panel will include a Q&A from audience members. Come early to enjoy our weekly Happy Hour at Bar MoCA from 5 – 7 PM\, and stay after the panel to view the 45-minute film associated with the exhibition. \nPanelists Include: \n\nClaudia King\, State of CT’s HART (Human Anti-trafficking Response Team)\nCadence Pentheny\, Coordinator\, Community and Corporate Learning\, LGBTQ+ Training Institute\, Triangle Community Center\nJamie Rubin\, Southwest Regional Manager\, Connecticut Commission on Human Rights & Opportunities\n\n  \nTickets: \n  \n \nSeating will follow social distancing guidelines. SUMMARY:Family Day in collaboration with the Westport Farmers’ Market
DESCRIPTION:A Family Day featuring a range of nature-inspired art activities will be held on Saturday\, September 11 from 12 – 4 p.m. Explore the Between The Ground and the Sky exhibition\, enjoy delicious offerings from the Parlor\, Bees Knees\, and On The Fly food trucks\, and listen to multi-instrumentalist Henry Jones. The event is rain or shine. \nCheck out more than 50 large-scale photographs\, both color and black and white\, of local farms by Anne Burmeister and Ashley Skatoff\, two local accomplished photographers. The photographs tell a compelling and visually arresting story of the importance of local farms and farmers. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of art\, drinks\, and community at the Opening Reception of Between The Earth and the Sky on Friday\, August 27 from 6 – 8 p.m.  \nMeet the featured artists\, purchase custom cocktails from Bar MoCA\, and experience our new outdoor play space and garden. \n\n\nThe exhibition features more than 50 stunning large-scale color and black and white photographs by Anne Burmeister and Ashley Skatoff from the Who Grows Your Food initiative\, an intimate photographic journey celebrating the beloved farms and farmers associated with the Westport Farmers’ Market.The exhibition also includes two site-specific installations by Kristyna and Marek Milde\, a Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary artist duo whose works explore environmental issues and the alienation of contemporary lifestyles. \nAlso on view are the works of Donna Forma\, a Southport\, CT-based artist known for her deconstruction and reconstruction of the components of deceptively simple natural forms\, exposing the layers of complexity hidden in plain sight all around us. \nThe exhibition\, on view through October 17\, was created in collaboration with the Westport Farmers’ Market. \nNo RSVP is required. All CDC guidelines will be explicitly followed.
