Camp MoCA 2023 Guidebook and Forms.
Camp MoCA is a fully-accredited summer youth art camp that offers weekly half-day and full-day options for children ages 4-8.
The Camp combines creativity, play, and education to help children develop their artistic skills and their sense of self-expression. The campers are encouraged to explore and experiment with a variety of materials, techniques, and themes, and are celebrated as artists at the end of the summer with a camper exhibition. Learn more about the exhibition here.
Through the guidance of experienced art educators, children are taught to embrace a growth mindset and see themselves as members of a creative community. They learn to express their individuality and appreciate the unique perspectives of others.
The curriculum is carefully designed to provide children with an introduction to contemporary art. Participants are exposed to a range of featured artists, including Frida Kahlo, Keith Haring, Mark Rothko, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. In addition to the art lessons, children also learn about agriculture through hands-on projects such as planting a Three Sisters garden or sorting waste for composting.
MoCA Westport is committed to offering this opportunity to all children, providing financial aid to those in need. With a commitment to equity and inclusion, MoCA Westport ensures that all children can participate in this amazing program, which offers children a unique and enriching experience to explore the arts, develop their creativity, and build self-confidence.
