About The Panelists:

Takako Nagasawa | Phillips Auction House, International Specialist, SVP

Takako Nagasawa serves as Phillips’ International Specialist, SVP, based in New York. Since her appointment in 2019, Ms. Nagasawa has contributed greatly to the auction house’s offerings in the Modern category as well as increased the auction house’s presence in Asia by developing relationships with clients and collectors in this important region along with expanding the reach of 20th century contemporary art, design, watches, and prints. Ms. Nagasawa has generated considerable consignments in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art sales on a global basis. Ms. Nagasawa previously worked at Sotheby’s, where she was Head of Private Sales, Americas, and a Specialist, with added responsibilities for business development in Japan. During her career, she organized the first Modern and Contemporary Western Art sales in Hong Kong for Sotheby’s, served as a Director for Sotheby’s Japan, and was an Underwriter for Chubb Insurance in Tokyo. In 2012, Ms. Nagasawa planned the first Yayoi Kusama exhibition in Asia, introducing the artist to a market that was largely unfamiliar with her work. She also orchestrated a Single Artist / Single Owner sale for Yoshitomo Nara in Hong Kong, which was a first in the industry.

 

Diana Mashia | Invest in Her Art, Founder and CEO

Diana Mashia is the Founder & CEO of Invest in Her Art, a discovery platform and marketplace uplifting the voices of women and non-binary artists. Through storytelling, education and advocacy, Invest and Her Art is creating a new fandom for these artists and increasing diversity, equity and inclusion across the fine art world and beyond. Diana has spent her career at the intersection of art and tech. Her work is informed by her career in venture capital and on Wall Street, as well as her advocacy work and research on public policy issues and social enterprise. She holds a B.A. from Barnard College in art history and economics and a Master in Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where she concentrated on issues related to management, policy, and sustainability. She resides in Westport where she juggles a fun and crazy life with her husband, kids and goldendoodle.

 

Elizabeth Gorayeb | Executive Director of the Wildenstein Plattner Institute, Inc.

Elizabeth Gorayeb is currently the Executive Director of the Wildenstein Plattner Institute, Inc., a non-profit art historical research foundation based in New York. As the WPI’s founding director, she oversees the production of digital catalogue raisonnes for artists including Jasper Johns, Paul Gauguin, and Claude Monet, and spearheads a major digitization effort of art historical archives and documentation. Gorayeb previously served as the senior vice president and senior specialist in the Impressionist and Modern Art department at Sotheby’s, and as director of research, Gorayeb led provenance research and restitution projects in London, Paris, and New York. Gorayeb is a graduate of Wellesley College and New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. She lives with her family in Manhattan.
